The Farewell Song, Style A - أغنية الوداع
$320.00 $400.00Ahmed Rashedy directs this poignant documentary that celebrates the life of singer Abdel Halim Hafez, nicknamed “The Dark-Skinned Nightingale.” The film is a devoted study ranging from his difficult childhood, to his years of fame as a performer, and finally his years of failing health. As well as interviews with his contemporaries, including artists and poets who worked with him, the film features some of his most famous performances.
Two illustrations of Abdel Halim in this poster create a context to appreciate his work and impact as a performer: a full shot of Abdel Halim performing in his standard formal suit in the foreground, and in the background a closeup of him singing an emotional song, fully invested in the performance and the moment. A simple blue backdrop and the title over a rose that symbolizes the mastery of his skills is a wonderful way to highlight a man who became an icon.
