The Dead End (The Barred Road) - الطريق المسدود
$700.00The film begins with a quote from novelist Ihsan Abdelquddous: “Sin is not born with us. We are driven to it by society.” This theme is explored in the story of Faiza, who leaves home to escape her family's illicit lifestyle. She takes a job in the countryside as a teacher, where she is resented and gossiped about by the villagers. She soon discovers that running away from one type of temptation has only delivered her into the clutches of another.
In this classically designed poster, actress Faten Hamama appears absorbed in her own thoughts as she receives a kiss from costar Ahmed Mazhar. A door being opened on them is illustrated in a more cartoonish style. The curious mix of styles and the large portrait of Faten make this an intriguing collectible.
