Between Heaven and Earth - بين السماء والأرض
$675.00On a scorching Friday afternoon in Cairo, a diverse group of people finds themselves trapped in an elevator for 12 hours. The group includes a movie star, a pickpocket, a madman, a cook, and a pregnant woman, representing a cross-section of Egyptian society. As they are stuck between floors in the posh Lebon Building, tensions rise and true personalities emerge. Directed by Salah Abu Seif and based on a screenplay by Naguib Mahfouz, the film explores themes of class, identity, and societal change within the confined space of the elevator.
The poster, a unique three-sheet edition designed by Abdelaziz and printed by Dimitri at Studio Marcel, features black and white headshot illustrations of key characters, including Hind Rostom, Abdelasalam El-Nabulsi, Abdelmenhem Ibrahim, Mahmoud El-Meligy, and Said Abu Baker. The figures appear cramped and uncomfortable, reflecting their situation in the film. The title is split into two parts: one over a blue background symbolizing heaven, and the other over a concrete color representing earth. This distinctive design stands out, capturing the essence of the film's tension and societal commentary.
