Baheyah - بهية
$600.00Baheyah (played by Lobna Abdelaziz) is a young woman whose father is killed by a greedy landowner and his minions. She places her own life in danger when she takes a stand against these men and tries to thwart their plans to dominate the village, and only one person comes to her aid: Yassin, the man she loves, played by sophisticated, standout actor Rushdy Abaza.
This was an important film of the era, one that highlighted the power of local feudal-style lords and the struggle of farmers to protect their rights, land and basic dignity. The poster is a simple yet elegant design, with Baheyah in full color and showing an emotional look of concern and determination. Yassin is pictured next to her and a rifle separates them from the village, signifying their struggle. The muted colors reflect the hues of the village and farms, and the somber fight against injustice.
