Youssef Abdelhamid, an ambitious journalist, abandons his morals and relationships in his relentless quest for power. The film, adapted from a novel that delves into multiple perspectives, portrays Youssef's life through the eyes of his stepmother, an actress he nearly marries, a rival editor, and Youssef himself.
