The Beast, Style A - الوحش

The Beast tells the gripping story of a police officer sent to capture a notorious gangster in Upper Egypt, only to have his mission take a dark turn when both he and his son are kidnapped. Based on real-life police reports, this film portrays the struggle against the infamous criminal al-Khot. Directed by Salah Abu Seif and co-written by Naguib Mahfouz, it stars Anwar Wagdi as the determined officer, Mahmoud El-Meligy as the ruthless gangster, and Samia Gamal as the alluring mistress. The film's realistic depiction of crime and justice earned it the Jury Prize at Cannes.
