Sinful Love, Style A - الحب الحرام

In this dramatic thriller, a young woman suffering from a psychological breakdown is sent by her mother to see a therapist. When their sessions reveal that her anxiety is the result of a sexual assault by her stepfather, the woman determines to get revenge and kill him. This tense film stars Zubaida Tharwat, Adib Qaddoura, and Salwa Said.

This is the main poster for this film that accompanied its release in Syria (also see the Egyptian version in our collection). A brutal image from the film shows the sexual assault. The light blue frame is a hopeful and soothing color, and the title is rendered in a traditional kufic variation. There's no doubt that this poster is unique for its willingness to push the limits of imagery appropriate for the medium.
